Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli meet and speak with Éomer
Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli speak with Éomer and learn that the Orcs were killed with no sight of the hobbits. Éomer lends them horses and they part ways. Aragorn searches the battle site but finds no evidence of the hobbits before the light fades. They see a glimpse of Saruman at the edge of the forest, and the horses given to them by the Riders run off.

Treebeard takes Merry and Pippin to the Entmoot, where hobbits are added to the old lists among men, elves, and dwarves. While the Entmoot continues they spend the time walking with Quickbeam (Bregelad), and waiting at his house.

In the calendar of the Shire, there are 12 months each with 30 days, so there will be no results for the 31st of any month, and February will have entries on the 29th and 30th.
