Primary Identification

The Ground Skink is most easily recognized by the dark line that extends from the noise, over the eye, and down the length of the body. While not entirely clear in this picture, in some Ground Skinks, the back will be more red than the bronze seen here.

Similar Species

The Five-Lined Skink contains three additional lines on the back of the organism, while the Broadhead Skink does not have the distinct lateral lines of the Ground Skink.
