It's been a long time since I originally built the book database that fills this site, and I've been through a lot of technology. From a custom written, horribly insecure php site, to a weirdly hacked together wordpress + custom database blog, and now to a fully integrated django-powered site.
While I won't pretend that my code is perfect or anything now, I think it is at the point that it's worth sharing, in the event that there are others out there who might find it interesting or useful. Right now it's just the code as I have it, but I could add documentation if anyone is actually interested in using it to power their own site.
Also, this includes the text adventure and Lord of the Rings calendar pieces as well, which could easily be forked off and used independently of the book portion.
So for the brave, or nerdy, or simply curious, check out the django book blog over at bitibucket, and do all that cool open source stuff that's all the rage.
